PJ Evans, AKA Number Three joined One-Eyed Doll on April 14, 2007 and has been my longest lasting band mate to date! For three years, I've electrocuted, cut, spit on, slapped and battered him relentlessly. Being my stage partner takes an inhuman supply of patience, determination and love - and especially a high tolerance for physical pain.... even an affection thereof. :)
I've enjoyed PJ's personal company and musical talents equally and am so very grateful for the time we've been blessed to have together on stage. I knew from the beginning that my partner's vast talents and interests would provide better opportunities for him eventually - and I've in fact anticipated gladly that One-Eyed Doll would be but a small step in his life's great journey.
We are all celebrating this change as a positive and happy one! PJ will have some time to focus on his personal life and goals outside of this life-altering/all-encompassing obsession of mine called One-Eyed Doll for the first time in almost three years! This is not bad news by any means, but a step in the right direction in all of our minds. I hope that the contacts and opportunities that One-Eyed Doll have opened up to him will provide him with all he needs to launch and find success in his own creative projects and ambitions!!
Of course, I'll continue One-Eyed Doll, full steam ahead with Junior at my side and with the support of YOU: my amazing fans. All shows are ON!
Of course it may take some time for you fans to adjust to the changes, and I'm looking forward to adjusting right along with you, with YOUR help! We'll all miss Number Three's presence on stage, but we are even luckier now to have him around as a beloved friend and One-Eyed Doll alumni. I'm so excited to see what the future holds for PJ and for One-Eyed Doll. He'll always be a member of my rock and roll family, and he continues to be one of my greatest companions.
Thank you, PJ for all that you've given to me since we met at Elysium in 2006. I was just a girl with a guitar and a couple of cardboard cut-outs, trying to make some noise.. well, alot of noise. :) Your support and love has meant the world to me, and I'll never be able to fully express my gratitude. You were TOTALLY there for me, my only support at times through hardships that only you and I will ever truly understand. You've been there with me through some of the greatest moments of joy in my life, on stage and off. You're my dear and true friend, and I love you more than the confines of time and space could limit.
HUGE THANKS to all of the loyal fans who [like PJ] have supported my crazy career through several line-ups and huge changes.. Thank you for always being at my side - through the rollercoaster evolution of my person and art.. I am the luckiest girl in the whole world to have such a family. I hope to someday have the proper words to express my love and gratitude for you all. Thank you for being my whole world, the love of my life.
We're playing shows tomorrow and Saturday in Dallas and Tulsa.. We're gonna two-piece it this weekend and roll with the punches from there.. I will need your support MORE THAN EVER in upcoming shows as we work out these changes and find our balance. One-Eyed Doll fans, this is your chance to really unite with me and help me rise to the challenge!
My most sincere congratulations go out to PJ.. I am overwhelmed with excitement and positivity for him as he continues on!!
I leave you with a special treat: Video footage of PJ's first show, taken at Headhunters on April 14, 2007!!!! This was his audition, caught on film by the amazing Radames Pera!
Love and Gratitude,
kimberly
