The Austin Electronic Music Grid has come together with Diverse Arts to bring Austin something completely different. This one-of-a-kind event will showcase Austin’s most awesome and spectacular rock and electronic music:

ArcAttack’s mastery of two (2) twelve feet tall singing Tesla coils is an eye popping spectacle of musical midi-controlled electricity that you must hear and see to believe. Their electrified rock performances have been included at Burning Man, DragonCon, and many more festivals worldwide. Electric Fest will be ArcAttack’s official homecoming performance from their European Tour.

Austin’s favorite power-rock duo One Eyed Doll will be gracing our stages as our featured rock group. Their performance will of course include the powerful stage presence of Austin’s punk-sweetheart Kimberly Freeman.

Panjoma is an eclectic electronic blend of pop and rock. Panjoma’s sultry lead singer Hannabella provides the audience a super-charged, sexy and energetic stage performance. Electric Fest will be the official CD Release Party of Panjoma’s new album ‘Trixster God’.

Audiences will enjoy special guest DJ spots including DJ John Thomas (Chicago, Il.). The event will feature multi-screen video projection provided by HipNautica.

Read lyrics to every song on the single MP3 pages.

She may be the front-woman of the Austin Music Awards “Best Punk Band 2009”, but those who follow Kimberly Freeman know she’s capable of so much more. With the album Sleep, she definitely doesn’t disappoint. Once again, Kimberly defies genres. She is, above all else, a musician. Setting the tone with the opening title track, she draws the listener into her world. On the surface, this album seems to be about loss, but it blooms into so much more. Lyrically rich and wonderfully orchestrated, Sleep pulls you into a journey of the human heart. Again she teams up with producer extraordinaire Jason Ruffuss Sewell, and the pair hit an absolute home run with this album. Apparently, songwriting is second nature to Kimberly. She gives voice to the feelings of grief that we all experience. On “Learn to Fly”, Sewell’s Latin rhythms and slide guitar accompany Freeman’s brilliant voice in a song ultimately about hope. “Kill Me Please” is about giving up one’s former life in order to pursue that which is most important. “Out to Play” asks the painful question of what might have been had a loved one done things differently on one fateful day. Haunting and elegant, Sleep will remain in the mind long after the last track ends.

Making British Magazine People Spill Their Tea

Bluesbunny is an online music review site based in England. We are quite honored to tell you that, "Monster" has received the envied FIVE CARROT rating. Read below.

-------------------------------------------------------

"Something apparently quite heavy dropped through the Bluesbunny mailbox from Texan band One-Eyed Doll. It was their album "Monster". Picking it up with both hands (for health and safety reasons) we placed it in the CD player and pressed play.

Then we spilt our tea.

There are times when you realise that musicians are different to the rest of us. Then there are musicians that are different to other musicians. Musicians like those who make up Texan band One-Eyed Doll perhaps?

Things do start pretty normally with the intro "Hi, I'm Kimberly…" Ha, you say, another rock/metal hybrid band waiting to assault our ears with some seriously overdriven guitars. Perhaps you even flick through a few songs on your mp3 player thing and start thinking that you've heard it all before. For example, "Be My Friend" is about a serial killer. Metal bands like to do songs about serial killers. No serial killer has ever done the mass murder and torture thing to anyone in leather jeans after all. It wasn't too hard to work out what "Bulimia" is about but be careful for you'll miss the clever bit.

This is theatre that you are witnessing not mere spectacle.

Those monster guitars are used to punctuate intelligent and perceptive lyrics. Even one of the album's gentler moments - the elegant "Pretty Song" - shows that an iron fist is best contained in a velvet glove. That's the clever bit. Kimberly Freeman - who wrote all the songs - turns things inside out. Subtle points are made with sheer volume.

New Braunfels show last night..

We played at a tucked away little corner of New Braunfels, TX last night called, "Thirsty's".

We were totally blown away by the kindness we were shown. Big Gene brought me a birthday cake, there was a super scary mosh pit for the entire show, and we met lots of sweet fans - many of which had been waiting to see us for over a year. I did a little after hours story time A Capella song session in the pool room after a One-Eyed Doll encore chant led by the beautiful female employees. The bands that we played with were really nice guys and girls, too. All good metal by SoulRuin and Stimple along with some excellent grunge rock and roll from Austin's, "Blind Puppies". Karsten Krooss of Edge Magazine brought me his newly published review of my new album, "Sleep" and signed it for me!

Thanks, New Braunfels, for reminding us of why we love small Texas towns just as much as the big cities we play on tour. We'll be back.

Love and Gratitude,
kimberly
