Not too long ago, I got an email from a cutie pie fan saying that she was wanted to learn One-Eyed Doll songs on the guitar. Well, she sure did!!!

Jessica Zulema Silva Marroquín of Monterrey, Mexico learned to sing AND play, "Committed" and posted the following video on Youtube! Yeah!!

We get alot of emails from recording artists and filmmakers about collaborating, soundtracks, session work and voice acting. I love to work with other studio projects and can't wait to hear your stuff!

I love all genres of music and film and am looking forward to working with many a great artist.

While I appreciate honest music, no matter what the content, note that I personally like to work with artists who have a positive overall message. I'm no Mother Theresa myself, but music based on glorifying booze, drugs, racism and any negative portrayal of women will probably not make it too far. I also don't cuss and usually try to find creative ways around it. :)

HOLY COWS!!!!!!!!

Our dear New York friend davidjr.com, the videographer who made Live on South Congress and lots of your favorite One-Eyed Doll videos is BACK IN TOWN!

Last night at Stubb's, come time for the encore run through practice session, I had a mysterious volunteer hop up on stage.. He was wearing a mask and a REAL GLOOMTH DRESS! I was a little shocked, but hey - we have totally weird creative fans. I pulled him to the mic by his collar and asked him his name, as usual.. and nothing could have prepared me for what I was about to hear.

"MY NAME IS DAVIDJR.COM"

I figured it was one of his fans, playing around. It was actually the best davidjr.com impression I'd ever heard. I actually got a little sad for a minute, cause I've been missing him since our East Coast tour and haven't heard from him in awhile.

He took his mask off, and I heard screams from the audience. I looked over at him and didn't even register that it could be really him at first.. and then, BAM!! IT REALLY WAS!!!!!!!! I screamed automatically, totally losing my stage cool for the next several minutes. Dangit, davidjr.com!!!!!!!!

He dropped to his knees and put his hands up, prayer style, wanting me to give him the special boy treatment, but I just couldn't! I wanted to squeeze him to death, not slap him!

Anyway, Maryann Doll [the REAL Kimberly] was all decked out and did the job very well for me, as I continued to freak out.

I guess Phive Fotography picked him up from the airport and has been plotting all of this with him for the past month. Wow.

Now he's at our house, and we're sooooooooo happy to have him here! Come to the Watermelon Festival today to see him!

We recorded a whole song awhile back for a potential licensing deal, and that technically started the album.. BUT tonight Jason and I are laying down [some of the] guitar tracks for the rest of the NEWWWWW albuuuum!

Yay!

I'm not going to tell you what songs are going to be on the album, cause it will kind of not be decided until the very end. We have a freaking slough [or however you spell that. Pronounce, "sloo"] to choose from at this point. Running out of songs will never be an issue here, and I hope to record a million albums. You can, however, suggest songs and talk about.. stuff! I dunno. Probably I'll just ramble deliriously most of the time.. Don't feel obligated to post. But feel free to. Or whatnot..

Anyway, this will be my little bloggy spot for the recording of the new One-Eyed Doll album!

So, day one. yep.. Jason and I are doing the beginning stuffs. I've finished guitaring one song and are on song number two. He always teaches me a whole bunch of things, like new chords and effects and sounds.. which I'm ever grateful for, even when I'm cursing him for making my fingies bleed and ache. He does not let me get away with a halfway decent strum or singy thing. Nope. Really stretches my limits.. :) He really knows how to make those visual and emotional things in my imagination come to life in the studio.

Anyway, WOW we just recorded the most evil, sick, beautiful guitar thing in this one song. OOoohhhhhhhh! So pretty!!!! Wow... This is a great song. Don't you wish you knew what it was... :)

Okay back to work!!! Hazzzah!

PS: Okay it is 4:40 AM, and we've just finished the night. We have two songs guitared, sounding MEAN. Sweet. I wish we didn't have to sleep. Jonny's on his way to take me home, and I'm like all ahhhhh I don't wanna stop! Hopefully more tomorrow night.. To be continued...
